Dear Oxford students, did you work on a stellar research paper or digital project during the past academic year? If your answer is yes, please consider submitting it for the Elizabeth Long Atwood Award. The Emory Libraries are again sponsoring an award for undergraduate research. A panel of faculty and librarians from Emory’s Atlanta and Oxford campuses will award up to four prizes of $1,000 each to those undergraduate students who 1) use the Woodruff Library’s collections and research resources in their original papers, posters, or digital projects; and 2) show evidence of critical analysis in their research skills (i.e., locating, selecting, evaluating, and synthesizing information).
To be eligible to win, applicants must:
- be current Emory College undergraduates at any class level and in any discipline (humanities, sciences, or social sciences);
- have completed their research project in the form of a paper, digital project, or poster since March 1 of the preceding year (2022) for an Emory University credit-bearing course; and
- allow library staff to display their research project for public viewing following receipt of the Undergraduate Research Award.
