Welcome to The State Alzheimer’s Research Support (StARS) Center
Coordinated and integrated care programs for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias and their caregivers are growing, but due to data integration challenges, information about their effectiveness is limited.
StARS assists state organizations to examine the accessibility, affordability, and effectiveness of integrated and coordinated dementia care services. Our goal is to share best practices and policies to scale programs within and across states.
The StARS Mission
Provide expertise and resources in dementia care to:
PARTNER
Help states strengthen and develop new within-state partnerships related to services for persons living with dementia and their care partners, and identify available data sources within states.
SUPPORT
Support the Dementia Care Innovation Grant projects.
BUILD
Build a data infrastructure that will offer unique and powerful opportunities to conduct within- and across-state analyses of dementia care services.
DISSEMINATE
Share knowledge with states, key agencies, communities and partners to promote best practices in identifying, linking, and sharing dementia care data.
