Apply for Funding

Thank you for your interest in the StARS Center’s Dementia Care Innovation Grants!

Our grant funding opportunity is now open for funding starting in October 2025.

The StARS Center is funded by the National Institute on Aging (U54AG089300) to 1) advance the understanding of integrated/coordinated dementia care programs within states; 2) assist states and state organizations to examine and advance the accessibility, affordability, effectiveness and reach of integrated/coordinated dementia care services; and 3) promote the use and sharing of data on states’ dementia services, thereby making it easier for states to learn from each other.

One of the StARS Center’s functions is to support dementia care innovation projects. In 2025, we will fund up to 4 projects (i.e., Dementia Care Innovation Grants). Available funding includes up to $100,000 in direct costs (plus 10% indirect costs) per project. Funded projects will also receive support from StARS Center scientists and research staff through monthly virtual meetings, in-person site visits, direct consultations, and feedback on interim results and study progress.

More information about the Dementia Care Innovation Grants, including eligibility, potential project topics, and details about the application process, can be found under ‘Grant Information’ below. A template is also available below to help you prepare your Letter of Intent.
