Countries Stepping Up

What is occurring to the innocent refugees in the continent of Africa. These people have been subjugated to living in terrible conditions with no opportunity, and want nothing more than the right to live in a place where they are offered a decent quality of life. The rest of the world, or at very least that surrounding region, must put aside their differences and apathy and offer greater aid to the people or a place of refuge for these people. I realize the potential negative effects and other reasons why people of a certain country would not welcome the refugees of other countries. As seen through this picture: http://static.thefrisky.com/uploads/2015/11/syrian-meme-compressed.jpg, one argument posed is that the US should spend their time and efforts increasing the quality of life and helping those in our country.  But in times where people’s lives are at stake, others must put their differences aside and be accepting and generous.

I believe people would be more accepting if governmental agencies and voices change their tone and their perspective on the matter. If they would devise a strategy to more seamlessly and beneficially incorporate the refugees into the societies, I believe people would be more willing to accept them. And if more leaders, on the federal or local level, increasingly voiced the necessity of offering aid, and the ability of each country in doing so, I believe in turn the people will be more willing to comply with relief efforts. Each day countries refuse to offer help, more innocent lives will be taken.
