The Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library is pleased to celebrate the accomplishments of Shenita Peterson who has been selected as a recipient of the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) Leadership Diversity Scholarship. Shenita serves as one of the Public Health Informationists and is the Systematic Review Service coordinator. Shenita joined the Emory University Libraries in 2012 after completing her Master’s in Public Health from the University of Georgia.
This competitive scholarship supports professional leadership development opportunities for librarians historically under-represented in U.S. academic health sciences libraries. The award aims to strengthen the profession’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity and develop a more diverse pool of library leaders. Shenita will be using the Scholarship to offset the costs of participating in the 2023 Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians.
By participating in the Harvard Leadership Institute, Shenita will gain advanced skills towards addressing day-to-day challenges faced by today’s libraries including:
- Nurturing a more diverse culture of high performance and engagement
- Leading Transformational Change
- Driving innovation and lasting impact
- Deeping leadership effectiveness
We congratulate Shenita on this national recognition of her career and potential!
