From February 10-14, 2025, the international community will celebrate Love Data Week, exploring critical questions about data ownership and origins. Data that is collected by groups such as researchers, governments, companies, and organizations may be owned, shared, published online, or both. This year’s theme challenges us to examine where data comes from and who owns it before we use it in our work.
Join ICPSR and Love Data Week in celebrating this week. Whether you’re a first-time participant or a returning supporter, here are some ways to celebrate and get involved:
- Connect with Love Data Week on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram @lovedataweek.
- Participate virtually in Love Data Week activities through ICPSR’s online calendar of events
- Adopt a dataset! In this activity you’ll choose from a list of datasets, fill out an adoption form, and download the data to your device. Bring your dataset to life by learning about the information it contains and sharing about what you’ve learned.
- Use a cool Love Data Week background graphic as your Zoom background or screensaver.
- Download, print, and share Love Data Week stickers with friends, students, and colleagues.
