ECDS Builds Traffic for National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center (NETEC)

The Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS) has worked alongside the National Emerging Special Pathogens Training & Education Center (NETEC) to create an online resource repository that provides free access to a database of up-to-date education and training resources. These resources include webinars, online courses, research articles, and printable posters that help train and prepare health care workers, public health professionals, and U.S. health care facilities for emerging special pathogens, including COVID-19. NETEC is a collaboration comprised of faculty and staff from Emory University, the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Nebraska Medicine, and the New York Health and Hospitals Corporation, Bellevue Hospital Center. The NETEC online resource repository is available at this link: https://repository.netecweb.org/

Throughout the evolving novel coronavirus pandemic, ECDS has assisted NETEC in adding new resources that provide training and information about COVID-19, pandemic preparedness, and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). In addition to resources created by NETEC, resources from other sources are included, such as videos created by Emory’s Visual Medical Education (VME) team with the assistance of Steve Bransford, ECDS Senior Video Producer.

The unique pageviews for the NETEC repository have increased to over 3000 per day as visitors access top resources, as this Emory News article reports. These top resources include the following:

The site also continues to provide updates on the situation on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update page and the PPE (COVID-19) Use and Conservation page.
