General Summary/ Overview Statement: The Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Cardiology is seeking a highly-motivated individual to assist with data management of multiple clinical research studies. The research focus of this group is Atrial Fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias. We seek to understand what determines the risk of developing cardiac conditions and identify patterns and improve risk profiling using electronic health record data. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and eager to learn about cardiovascular disease. The Data Analyst will focus on statistical analysis and data management of large datasets. A high level of maturity is essential, as the Data Analyst is given access to personal and confidential medical information. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential. Candidate must be self-motivated, independent in task completion, and comfortable accepting feedback and guidance from colleagues.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities will include the following: Providing clinical data management support to the clinical study project, clinical data management team and Principal Investigator. Applying analytic techniques for high dimensional data to identify patterns and improve risk profiling using electronic health record data. Developing decision-analytic models to inform the optimal effectiveness of management approaches. Managing large databases and performing early and final database activities, such as statistical and regression analysis. Assisting and providing input into study and project level data analysis plan and interacting closely with other collaborating Investigators on data quality. Proactively communicating with the Investigators to help ensure analytical goals are achieved. Actively participating in the preparation of manuscripts for publication, scholarly reports and present at scientific conferences.

Skills/ Abilities/ Competencies Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as the ability to learn how to use new software is also important. Knowledge of RedCap and statistical programs strongly preferred.
