Catalytic Anti-Cancer Agents

We are developing a new type of anticancer agent that works by selectively penetrating into tumor cells and therein catalytically oxidizing these cells to death.  These agents are zwitterionic cluster compounds, and the collaborative team (Jie Song Ph.D., Craig L. Hill Ph.D., Shuming Nie, Ph.D. and co-workers) are studying and optimizing all aspects of this chemistry and biology.  A start-up company was just founded (summer, 2017).
