Rebecca combines her loves of computing and English Lit.

Rebecca came to the Library six years ago fresh out of grad school and started working in the Beck Center, which allowed her to combined her dual skills of electronic texts and computers.

Born in Salt Lake City, UT, Rebecca came to the Deep South to get a PhD of English Literature from Emory. She also earned double majors in English Literature and Math/Computer Science at Wheaton College in Chicago.

For fun of late she has been playing Ingress, Google’s Android location-based game, which is a cross between Geocaching and Capture the Flag (alas, it is not yet available on the iPhone).

Rebecca enjoys coding and building things, but lately she’s become more involved in the digital humanities with Digital Project Commons and a project with the Belfast Group.

“I am cautiously optimistic about the merger,” says Rebecca.
