Chris Doty is a new Science Librarian, managing the collection for chemistry and physics, as well as e-Science work with the research data librarian. Before coming to Emory, Chris was the Physics and Materials Science and Engineering Librarian at Georgia Tech for nearly three years.
Born in New Jersey, Chris grew up in St. Charles, MO (west of St. Louis), Friendswood, TX (south of Houston), and San Diego, CA.
Chris has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona, Master of Science in Information Science degree from the University of North Carolina, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas. He also did a pair of post-doctoral stints at the University of Liverpool and the University of Michigan.
For fun, Chris helps raise a four-year-old daughter. He also plays soccer in an adult co-ed league at the Atlanta Silverbacks park. Chris also enjoys yard work and reading. His wife, Jennifer, is also on staff in the library. In fact, she’s the research data librarian mentioned above!
