“I’ve found that LITS is highly collaborative and dynamic,” said Erin Grant.

Erin Grant joined Emory in the fall as the head of metadata services. Before this new position, she was the cataloging unit head at the Georgia Tech Library for a little more than a year. Previous to that, she spent over two years as the catalog, archives, and interlibrary loan librarian at Southern Polytechnic State University (now Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus).

Born in Grand Rapids, MI, Erin also lived in Highlands, NC, Jackson, MS, Charlotte, NC, and Ormond Beach, FL, before her folks finally settled down in Atlanta when she was 13. Erin attended the Paideia School for high school, so she spent her teens right around the corner from the Emory campus.

Erin has a BFA in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia, and an MSLIS degree from Florida State University. Last year, she completed an MA in art history at Georgia State University, focusing on contemporary art.

As one might imagine, Erin likes to read most anything she can get her hands on, makes and looks at art, listens and dances to music, and spends time with friends and family.

“I’ve found that LITS is highly collaborative and dynamic, and chock full of the resources and potential to accomplish very exciting things,” said Erin. “I’m already enjoying my time here, and am looking forward to new projects and initiatives to be involved in.”
