An interview of U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera will air at 11:23 a.m. Friday, February 17 on WABE (Atlanta’s NPR station, found on FM 90.1). The interview is in advance of his free poetry reading at Emory University’s Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 19.
According to Emory’s Office of Media Relations,
Tickets [for the Sunday poetry reading] are not required, but seating will be limited. Books and a limited-edition broadside will be for sale at the reading, with a signing immediately after.
“It is an honor to host a poet of such stature and significance on our campus,” says Rosemary Magee, director of Emory’s Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library. “His expansive voice speaks to the entire community, inviting all to experience the astonishing liveliness of poetry in our time.”
