Marvlyn (Kirk) Corbin is a new library specialist in the Oxford Library. Marvlyn is no stranger to Oxford College of Emory as she worked as the associate director of development in Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) for 33 years before retiring.

A native of Americus, GA, Marvlyn got her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Georgia Southwestern College in Americus and her master’s degree in education from Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA.

Marvlyn loves gardening, where she specializes in hybrid tea roses. She also enjoys biking, reading, and has 12 years of experience in machine embroidery. As such, she runs her own embroidery business at home called My Mimi’s Attic.

“They called me back in October to fill in because they had some openings. I loved it so much that I decided to stay,” said Marvlyn. “Emory is a family. I think Oxford is a unique place and I have always loved it.”
