Jim Houghton started with the Database Administration department in May. As a database administrator III, he will support the databases for the Emory University and Emory Health Systems, particularly those which support the PeopleSoft Financials application.
As a career IT professional, Jim began as a programmer with Delta Air Line’s reservation and ticketing systems before moving into database administration. He earned his Oracle Certified Professional prior to working for Oracle as a Principle Consultant. There, he helped clients in higher education, the government, and Fortune-100 companies improve the performance and capacity of their databases.
When he isn’t supporting Emory’s databases and commuting, he volunteers as a firefighter for Peachtree City’s Fire and Rescue department.
