Ayana Bohannon, Events Coordinator, Campus and Community Relations

Ayana Bohannon (pronounced uh-YAY-nuh) is the new events coordinator for Campus and Community Relations, reporting to the CCR Events Manager. A recent Emory graduate, Ayana has held work study jobs in the Telefund area, the School of Nursing, the Woodruff Library Security Desk, Campus and Community Relations, and as an assistant to Carmalina Johnson in the Goizueta Business School.

Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Ayana earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Emory.

Ayana danced with the Zuri African Dance Troupe at Emory. She likes to sing and exercise to help alleviate stress. She also enjoys doing natural hair styling. She has been working and dancing with a local artist who recently graduated from Emory named Bockarie “BOREGARD” Amara.

“I used to worry about entering the work force into a space where I didn’t belong,” said Ayana, “CCR has been a welcoming, pleasant experience. My teammates take their time to teach me.”
