Phase 2: Initiation

Though a project proposal may be successfully submitted and approved, rushing to begin without proper planning can lead to unnecessary complications and delays.  Initiation is the second stage in the lifecycle of a project, and it is during this phase that you will develop the foundations for a successful project.

By creating a detailed project charter and assembling a team capable of managing the multiple facets of a digital humanities project, you will help ensure timely project completion.  By the end of this phase, you should have a well-rounded team in which each individual understands the purpose of the project and how it is to be completed.
