GIDEON: Diagnosing and tracking infectious diseases

GIDEON (Global Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Network) is a global infectious disease knowledge management tool.  Continuously updated information includes:

  • Clinical
    • Build a differential diagnosis based on travel history, symptoms, and laboratory data
    • Review a summary of clinical disease information, including incubation period, diagnostic tests, typical therapy
    • View country-specific travel information
    • View information on anti-infective drugs and on vaccines
  • Epidemiologic
    • View epidemiologic profile of a disease or a list of diseases that fit an epidemiologic profile
    • Read summaries and references of case and outbreak reports by disease and country
    • View epidemiologic graphs by disease and country
