Woodruff Health Sciences Library hosts “From DNA to Beer” Exhibit and Event

Recently, the Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library exhibited “From DNA to Beer,” an exhibit by the National Library of Medicine.  The exhibit explored how bacteria, yeasts, and molds can cause sickness and restore health, and it highlighted how scientists have harnessed these microbes to manufacture both new medicines and potent potables.  On February 23, the Health Sciences Library hosted a seminar and exhibit viewing reception.  Adam Beauchamp, co-founder and Brewmaster of Creature Comforts Brewing, Athens, Georgia, and former student in the Graduate Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences Division, presented on the science behind brewing beer.  The event attracted close to one hundred attendees.
