Recent accomplishments at the WHSC Library

Kevin Bradford collaborated with clinicians at Grady Hospital to complete “Deprescribing Medications for Chronic Diseases Management in Primary Care Settings: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials” in the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association.  PMID: 30108032.

Kimberly R. Powell collaborated with Jennifer Elder, Woodruff Library, to publish “A bibliometric services workshop for subject librarians” in Library Management, DOI: https://doi.org/10.1108/LM-03-2018-0014.

Shenita Peterson and Hannah Rogers will be presenting a poster that was accepted for the 2018 annual meeting of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association (October 26-28, 2018). The poster, “Credit Where Credit Is Due: Authorship Among Systematic Review Service Librarians,” explores how health sciences libraries’ websites approach the subject of authorship for librarians collaborating on systematic review projects with health sciences faculty.

Hannah Rutledge published an article, “Diving into Data: Analyzing Information Requests to Understand Information Needs at a Pediatric Hospital,” in the Journal of Hospital Librarianship, DOI: 10.1080/15323269.2018.1509190.

Mia White collaborated with a group of clinicians to complete “Impact of Red Blood Cell Antigen Matching on Alloimmunization and Transfusion Complications in Patients with Sickle Cell Disease: A Systematic Review” recently published in Transfusion Medicine Reviews. PMID: 30122266

Amy Allison completed a yearlong leadership program sponsored by the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries and the National Library of Medicine. In October she participated in a three day capstone program in Washington, D.C., and received a certificate of completion presented by Patricia Brennan, RN, PhD, Director of the National Library of Medicine.
