As we embrace the month of love, we turn our attention not only to romantic gestures but also to the places and spaces that hold a special place in our hearts. February marks Library Lovers Month, a time to celebrate the sanctuaries of knowledge, imagination, and community that libraries represent. Let’s hear from our students on what they love about Emory Libraries!
Being surrounded by books is the best thing in the world, and Woodruff Library is the perfect place to do that! –Nava Klopper, class of 2025
I’m always learning about new resources available to me at Emory Libraries. Besides being one of the best research libraries in the country, the faculty are an invaluable asset to the Emory community. –Ansley Langham, class of 2025
I love that the Emory Librarians are always willing to direct us to super useful resources and take a sincere interest in the projects and initiatives that students ask for help with. I also enjoy visiting the exhibitions and lectures organized by the Library’s exhibits and community engagement teams. –Emilio Rosas, class of 2025
I love that the library is such a multi-functional space that people just come and go but also linger. There are so many spots in the library that you can discover and claim as your own spots for various purposes, not just reading but also studying, relaxing, sleeping, chilling, and meeting people! –Yazi Zheng, class of 2025
The library provides more resources than I could have ever imagined. From the endless books filling the stacks to the infinite research availability online, the library has me so well equipped for anything I need. Beyond the resources themselves, the library has given me a space for reading, studying, relaxing, and connecting. –Daliya Wallenstein, class of 2026
The Woodruff Library is an accessible source from learning tools to literature works. I got used to reading fiction works that I borrowed from the library or the Library online storage. –Andrew Yin, class of 2026
When I was studying for finals and struggling to stay relaxed, the library was the perfect place to go. Everyone was in the same boat as me, so it was great to have a place where we could go to find others that were working on the same subjects and projects, or even looking for a quick break. –Ella Abend, class of 2027
Coming from a city/school that didn’t have the most immersive public library, I have come to appreciate the aesthetic, professional and social value of the Emory library. I love booking a room and just sitting with my friends as we all work on our different projects. I also love browsing the stacks (sometimes needlessly pressing the button because it’s fun to see them move) and finding an interesting text I might have never encountered otherwise, maybe even reading a chapter or two. –Ramlah Amer, class of 2027
I love that the library has so many spaces both for collaboration and individual studying. The stacks are my favorite part and it’s wonderful being surrounded by so many books. It’s great that Emory has two libraries as well, especially with areas such as quiet areas or reading rooms or rows of laptops for every kind of learner. –Taara Jonnalagadda, class of 2027
The Woodruff Library is a fantastic resource that I feel very fortunate to have. There are several resources for students such as books, research archives, digital services, and more that are free for me to utilize when in need. It also provides a comfortable and quiet study place for when I need to get some work done. The faculty community is amazing, and I am extremely thankful to have it as a resource. –Rouida Siddiqui, class of 2027
When I need a spot to study in silence, a room to study with friends, or to sit surrounded by books, Emory’s libraries have been an invaluable resource for me during my time here. From the librarians eager to help to the multitude of online and print resources, the library is one of the biggest spots I find myself returning to repeatedly. – Cece York, class of 2027
