Are your students’ research skills up to snuff? Do their citations measure up?
If you feel your students’ research skills could use an upgrade, the Library can help!
The librarians at Woodruff provide a variety of instructional services for your classes that can sharpen your students’ information literacy abilities and practices.
- We can create research guides for your classes tailored to your particular assignments (example 1, example 2, example 3).
- We can provide a hands-on, interactive instruction session for your class centered on their assignment. You can contact your subject librarian or use the instruction request form if you’re not sure who to contact.
- Subject librarians are also happy to work with you on designing assignments. And we know that a research paper is NOT the only option for your students. In fact it may not be the best option for 1st year students. If you need some inspiration for new assignment ideas, here are ideas from the libraries of University of Pennsylvania, San Diego State University, Lawrence University and Memorial University.
- Your students can also have personalized research consultations with a subject librarian.
