Emory Libraries is excited to share that our new Library Search is now available in the beta stage. This updated search experience is designed to make it easier to discover, access, and use the library resources that support your learning, teaching, and research.
Your feedback is important to us. You can explore the beta version of Library Search by visiting our current Library Search website and clicking the banner at the top of the page, or by going directly to the beta site. Or you can use this short, custom link: bit.ly/NewLibrarySearchTesting.

What’s changing?
Library Search is Emory Libraries’ primary tool for finding library materials in the catalog. We are transitioning from a system maintained internally to a modern platform provided by an external vendor that specializes in library discovery services.
This new system represents a significant upgrade and will become our primary Library Search later this year. The current beta period gives the Emory community an opportunity to explore the new interface and help us refine it before the full launch.
Why we’re making this change
The new Library Search offers several improvements, including:
• Combined searching of library collections and articles in a single search
• Improved relevance and filtering to help you find what you need more quickly
• Browse search for author, title, series, subject, and call numbers
• Better mobile responsiveness for use on phones and tablets
• Image thumbnails for book covers
Together, these enhancements are intended to create a more intuitive and effective search experience for users across the university.
How you can help
We encourage all users—students, faculty, staff, and researchers—to try the new Library Search and share your feedback.
Within the beta site, you’ll find:
• A Feedback Form where you can report issues, share suggestions, or tell us what’s working well – this is embedded at the bottom right of every page.
• A link to a project information page with more details about the goals of the project, known issues, and what to expect next.
Your input during this beta period will directly inform improvements and help shape the final version that launches this fall.
Questions or want to learn more?
If you have questions while exploring the beta, start with the project information page linked from the search interface. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please reach out using the feedback form or by email at PrimoNDEFeedback [at] emory[dot]edu.
Thank you for taking the time to test the new Library Search and help us build a better discovery experience for the Emory community.
