Woodruff Library invites all members of the Emory community to take a Nowruz-themed quiz. This is an opportunity to showcase your knowledge and to learn about the Persian New Year, celebrated from the Balkans, through the Caucasus, to Central Asia. To enter the prize drawing, simply answer the quiz questions correctly between March 20 and 26, 2025.
To access the quiz, please follow this link or scan this QR code:
If you are unsure about any of the answers, feel free to visit the Nowruz research guide for guidance. Please send related inquiries to Neda Zeraatkar, Middle East and Islamic Studies librarian. Also, visit the Haft-Sin table set up between March 20 and 27 in Woodruff Library and, if you prefer, fill out the quiz in person there. What is the Haft-Sin table? Find out more about it on the Nowruz research guide.
The winner of the quiz will be notified on March 27, and the name of the winner will be announced at the Persian New Year and spring celebration held in the Carlos Museum on Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. The event will feature a Haft-Sin table as well as music and cultural activities. The event is free, but reservations are required.
