Canvas Release Highlights for March 2022

Here are the highlights of the Canvas code deploy on Wednesday March 2, 2022 and the production release on Saturday March 19, 2022:

Teachers and TAs may enable an Enhanced Gradebook Filters feature preview on a course by course basis under the course Settings > Feature Options tab. Enabling this feature will:

  • consolidate all gradebook filters in a Filters button that opens a tray menu,
  • add due date and submissions status filter conditions for assignment columns, and
  • allow gradebook users to save filter sets for reuse.

Teachers may also disable the feature preview after trying it. Instructure released this feature in the March 2, 2022 code deploy, and we unlocked it in Emory University Canvas on March 10. If you have feedback on this feature preview, please join the discussion in the Canvas Community’s Gradebook Filters user group.

The Rich Content Editor’s equation editing interface will be updated for all users in the production release on Saturday March 19. Click here to read full release notes.

The Canvas Release Notes index collects production release notes, code deploy notes, and more. These typically include links to screencast demos, feature Q&As, and role-specific user summaries. You can join in the discussion if you log in to the Canvas Community.
