Here are the noteworthy changes in the Canvas for December 2022.
EDIT: as of January 10, 2023, Instructure reverted New Quizzes to its original, separate content editor due to some bugs with the conversion of existing content through the Canvas RCE. Click here to read the post from the technical product manager for New Quizzes.
The New Quizzes tool now uses the Canvas rich content editor (replacing its separate RCE). Most features of the RCE are available now in New Quizzes, and using LTI integrated tools in New Quizzes is on the roadmap for a future release phase. New Quizzes’s fill in the blank and multiple answer questions also have a few updated options. Click here for complete release notes for December 17, 2022.
This month’s release notes also mention that the Unsplash image search within Canvas was removed on December 9, 2022. No reason for the change was given. Previously embedded images should continue to work. If you are looking for new free images, please click here to see the Scholarly Communications Office’s free media resource list.
