Audio Activity 5: A future research project
This audio activity reviews a number of points that we covered in Unit Two.
For this recording, you will describe a future research project in three basic steps.
Begin with a general statement about the topic and goal or purpose of the research.
Then, describe how you plan to accomplish your goal in three steps.
- Use signal words and phrases to organize the content (e.g., First, Then, In the final step, …).
- Where appropriate, emphasize the main event/purpose of each step with a fronted wh-clause (e.g., What happens then is …).
- Practice reductions of going to (e.g., Then, I’m gonna …)
Conclude by stating the significance of the project (why it’s important).
Your recording should be around one minute long and be submitted by Oct. 28.
