Description 

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for an Epidemiologist. The Epidemiologist will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and performing QA on data linkage projects. This includes writing code to match between DPH surveillance data and external data sources, running existing matching processes to update surveillance data, validating data linkage outputs, overseeing data import processes, and maintaining data linkage documentation. Analyses will be performed in SAS, R, and/or Python. 

The position will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and is initially funded through 2/22/2022 with potential renewal.

 

Job Duties 

The Epidemiologist will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and performing QA on data linkage projects. This includes writing code to match between DPH surveillance data and external data sources, running existing matching processes to update surveillance data, validating data linkage outputs, overseeing data import processes, and maintaining data linkage documentation. Analyses will be performed in SAS, R, and/or Python. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in epidemiology or its equivalent and three years of experience assisting in the design, conduct, and evaluation of epidemiologic studies and field investigations -OR- A doctoral degree form an accredited college or university with specialization in epidemiology or its equivalent -AND- one-year work experience as an epidemiologist; and

Desirable Qualifications

  • Windows-based laptop or desktop device, with a speaker and mic;
  • Reliable Wi-fi/internet access; and
  • Knowledge of communicable disease surveillance.
  • Experience conducting intermediate epidemiologic analyses, including regression modeling.
  • Experience using statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS, R) to manage data and conduct statistical analyses, including coding macros
  • Familiar with project management
