Job Description

As part of the Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology Unit of the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Epidemiology Section, the Oral Health Epidemiologist is responsible for all oral health data collection and management for the Oral Health Program.  The Epidemiologist conducts routine functions based on Oral Health Surveillance protocols related to survey implementation, data collection, and data analysis using epidemiologic methods. Examples of survey implementation include the 3rd Grade Basic Screening Survey and the Head Start Basic Screening Survey. The Epidemiologist will be responsible for disseminating oral health data to internal and external stakeholders in various settings (e.g., conference presentations, scientific posters, programmatic meetings, data summaries, fact sheets, and burden reports). Pay range for this position is $53,600 annually. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of experience performing epidemiologic work or work in a closely related field OR
  • Two years at the lower level (HCP180) or position equivalent.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing data from complex sampling design
  • Experience with survey implementation
  • Experience with data management (from data collection thru dissemination)
  • Experiment with data dissemination (e.g., surveillance reports, data summaries)
