Epidemiologist III (Posting number 441106) – Epidemiologist III performs highly advanced research and epidemiological work in the area of Maternal and Child Health (MCH). Work includes taking a major role in the Title V and Maternal Mortality and Morbidity review process for the Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology Unit (MCH Epi). Work involves designing and implementing complex surveillance/research studies following new or standardized scientific polices/protocols, coordinating studies, collecting, analyzing and evaluating data, and communicating results. Collaborates with MCH program areas to identify performance measures for internal quality monitoring and report writing and to ensure available program data meets these measures. Propose, design, and conduct epidemiologic studies using program data to identify the effectiveness and impact of program activities and evaluate the effectiveness of allocated resources. Assist MCH program areas to improve data systems and increase their understanding and utilization of program data. Identify opportunities to integrate the use of geographic information into program data collection and analysis. Support data quality and improvement efforts throughout the section. Identify opportunities for the use and distribution of program data to internal and external stakeholders. Develops and directs grant-funded projects, generates scientific publications, public health reports and presentations of completed work to agency/program management, and, when appropriate, presents at scientific conferences. Work is performed under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Reports to the Surveillance and Data Analytics Manager. Click here to apply
