Health Policy Analyst I, Maryland Department of Health

Position Description 

This full time contractual position will support and enhance public health surveillance and detection capacities of OP&R by coordinating biosurveillance and other drug-overdose monitoring and analysis activities resulting in improved public health services, policies, and programs.

 

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
  • Note:  A Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • The desired candidate should have experience/education in biosurveillance and/or working with morbidity or mortality data sets/systems, knowledge/experience summarizing data analysis and recommendations into reports, presentations and/or policy proposals and knowledge/experience working/addressing the Opioid epidemic.
