The Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position with a preferred start date of January 1, 2020. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the research mission of the center in nutrition, food marketing, and/or health disparities. This is a full time, annually renewable position with a maximum duration of 2 years.

This Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to research on nutrition, food marketing and health disparities under Dr. Frances Fleming-Milici, Assistant Research Professor, Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include nutritional analyses, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data analyses, literature reviews, grant writing, and writing scientific papers. Additional duties include supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, including dietetics interns’ research rotation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. in Nutrition, Public Health, Public Policy, Psychology, or related field completed within the past 2 years
Registered Dietician
Proficient in SPSS, SAS, STATA or other statistical software programs
Strong analytical and statistical skills (e.g., multivariate analyses)
Strong oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates whose research interests intersect with those of supervising faculty
Ability to work independently
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience presenting research to a range of audiences
Experience computing and evaluating nutrient content and nutritional quality of food and dietary patterns (e.g., HEI, DQI-I, DRI)

This is a full-time, annually renewable position based in Hartford CT.
