Category : News/Events

The NGP DEI committee encourages the neuroscience community to participate in the third annual Black In Neuro Week, happening this week! Please see below for a message from Black In Neuro with additional details and a link to register.

We have reserved Whitehead 600 (the conference room) for the virtual events listed below so that we can tune in together as a community. Please feel free to stop by, even if you can’t stay for the whole time or will arrive late.

  • Keynote (Tuesday, 5:00 – 6:15 PM ET): Keynote by Dr. Margreet Ridder.
  • Neuroracism Panel (Wednesday, 1-2 PM ET): Learn how racism translates into misdiagnoses or lack of diagnosis in neurology and psychiatry.
  • Neuroracism Journal Club (Wednesday, 5-6 PM ET): Discuss the recent paper, “Addressing racial and phenotypic bias in human neuroscience methods” with Dr. Jasmine Kwasa.

Please refer to our Black History Month Resource List for additional ways to self-educate and support Black scientists and members of our local Atlanta community. (You can view our archive of heritage month resource lists in our shared resources folder.)
