Dawn Weaver‘s (Enterprise Services) daughter, Brittney, won fourth-place in the state-wide Professional Selling Event at the Diversified Education Community Association (DECA) State Career Development Conference held from February 28 to March 2. This placement qualified her to go to California to compete in nationals. She was the first Langston Hughes High School student to be a state finalist and she was able to compete at DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, CA, held April 24-27.
To help pay for the trip, Dawn made and sold candy baskets and she wishes to thank all of her colleagues who purchased them to help make this dream a reality. Brittney, who is 17 and just completed her junior year, learned much from her experience. Her family, friends, and teachers are so proud of her!
