Starting her new position on June 1, Bethany Nash will continueher previous work from theResearch Library Fellow Program on the electronic thesis and dissertation program (ETDs) and begin new initiatives with the Scholarly Communications Office. She also will be working on OpenEmory, which is the Open Access repository of faculty authored articles.
Before coming to Emory, she worked as an imaging technician for The King Center Imaging Project, a large-scale digitization project of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s papers, and as a library assistant in the Georgia Gwinnett College Library. In her previous marketing communications career, she worked for theCity of Lilburn as the Marketing and Events manager.
A graduate of the University of Georgia in Advertising, Bethany also received a Master’s of Library and Information Science from Valdosta State University.
Bethany is a “serial crafter” and a yarnophile; she’s tried her hand at knitting, crochet, metalsmithing, glasswork, and most recently, weaving. “How do I save up to buy a loom?” she says. Bethany has a pair of terriers (Ralphie and Riley) to keep her on her toes and loves hiking in the mountains.
“I like the environment at Emory and the opportunity to continue my career here is exciting,” says Bethany.
