Scott Davis takes over the newly reorganized Network Engineering Run Team after spending the past seven years as a communications architect for Emory, during which he focused on research and design and bringing new technology into the network. Scott spent the previous 12 years as a network engineer at Emory.

Scott grew up in Birmingham, AL. While studying computing at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, Scott said, “The Emory Clinic decided to draft me in the third round to go pro after my junior year of college.” Back in 1995, being able to use UNIX and the Internet was highly sought but didn’t necessarily come from university degreed programs, and Scott was able to fill an immediate need for Emory. He also carries an ITIL Expert certification.

After spending much of his life as a single guy, Scott got married to Amanda six years ago and now has two boys, a 16-year-old stepson named John and a 4-year-old named Richard. “The 4-year-old is running me to death and the 16-year-old just wants me dead,” quipped Scott. He also volunteers with the Civil Air Patrol as the IT officer for a squadron in Sandy Springs, GA, doing web content and logistics.

“I’m dedicated to helping each member of my team be successful,” said Scott, “as we continuously strive to enhance the quality of the networking services that we provide at Emory.”
