Gerrell Sterling, Computer Support Specialist, GBL

“I am always excited to provide support to individuals and small groups. Working in the GBL allows me to make sure the mission stays on track.” – Gerrell Sterling

Gerrell Sterling is the new computer support specialist for the Goizueta Business Library. He comes to Emory after being self-employed for the past decade, doing IT support for The Technology Professionals. Gerrell also provided small company IT support in Chicago for three years.

Born in tiny St. Francisville, LA, Gerrell started at Tulane University, got married, and moved to Houston, TX, where he finished an associate’s degree in general science at Kingwood College. He started in computer science but learned quickly that he preferred working with others over programming alone at a desk. He still enjoys complex problem-solving.

Gerrell loves to cook as a hobby and enjoys fantasy novels. He’s been married to his wife, Kym, for 18 years and has two daughters, one that is 14 and one that is 9 years old (Rhian and Rhyse, respectively).

“When I saw this job posting, I could have sworn they wrote it just for me,” said Gerrell. “I am always excited to provide support to individuals and small groups. Working in the GBL allows me to make sure the mission stays on track.”
