Andy Griffin is the newest outside plant project manager, working with Keith Rooks. Prior to joining LITS, Andy spent 11 years at Emory as a telecommunications contractor for Communication Cabling Specialists. He has also had a career as a heavy-duty truck technician, working on diesel engines for class-a tractor trailers (these trucks are 26,001 pounds or larger).
Born in Tyrone, GA, Andy is certified in heavy-duty diesel engine systems, having received his certification from the Nashville Auto and Diesel College. Andy left mechanic work and went into construction mainly due to the actual work itself. Truck repair is dirty, nasty, back breaking work. He still works on certain things occasionally but just prefers not to earn a living with it any longer.
Andy loves to fish, hunt, and hang out with his wife April and their 11-year-old daughter Sadie.
“This is a good group of people. We do the best we can to take care of Emory and to keep it running,” says Andy.
