On behalf of the
Center for Native American and Indigenous Studies, we warmly invite you to join us for two public events featuring artist
Johnnie Diacon. He will return to Emory’s Atlanta campus this coming week. The kick-off event is a drawing workshop co-sponsored by the Michael C. Carlos Museum, and a Creativity Conversation moderated by our own Dr. Senungetuk, Assistant Teaching Professor in Music, and co-sponsored by Emory Arts. The residency expands on the Continuum exhibit currently on display at the Oxford College campus.

Drawing from Inspiration: A Conversation with the Land and with Yourself.
Monday, March 30th | 4:00 – 6:00PM
Patio at Oxford Road Bldg., 3rd floor, 1390 Oxford Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30322
A drawing session on the homelands led by Johnnie Diacon. The session will focus on artistic expression based on what student and community are feeling from the land. We will capture the homelands in a drawing. This land shows us generosity each day. When you are having a quiet conversation with the land, this will be your part of the conversation, interpreted by you and creating it into something physical. Drop in participation is welcomed, and no registration is required.
