Grants Quick View

Three new inquiry pages have been created in Compass to provide users quick access to relevant grant information. These pages were created by the Grants Reporting Team which is made up of James Goff, Jennifer Gore, and Tammy Spain. While working with users in various departments and across campus, it became apparent that much of the information needed is scattered across many different locations within Compass.  The idea was to create three simple pages that pull the majority of this information (related to budgets and expenses on grant awards/projects) together in one place. These pages provide quick access to this information. Another advantage over running this report is that the pages display immediately on the screen.

Grants Quick View is made up of three screens: a PI screen, an Award screen, and a Project screen. The PI screen shows all awards and proposals related to a specific investigator. It also shows committed effort for that investigator.  From the PI screen a user can then drill-down to a specific award. The Award screen lists details on a specific award, including all projects under that award and available balances. Clicking on the project allows you drill-down to the Project screen. This screen shows project specifics, including account-level expenses, monthly burn rates, project team members, and associated smartkeys. We hope these pages will make finding grant-related information much easier.

Please keep in mind there are still a few ongoing data cleanup projects that involve a small number of awards. Progress is also ongoing to make the information more meaningful to viewers such as the reduction of budgets (on ended projects) to the final fsr/reported amount if different from the award.  If you find any information that does not appear correct, please contact James Goff at jbgoff@emory.edu for further assistance in investigating the issue.
