Lisa Macklin named the interim dean and university librarian of Emory Libraries

Lisa Macklin has been named the interim dean and university librarian of Emory Libraries.

Macklin serves Emory Libraries as associate dean of research, engagement, and scholarly communications. She oversees collection management, research and engagement, instruction and engagement, assessment and user experience, and scholarly communications.

She will serve in this position while Emory University finalizes the search for its inaugural vice provost for libraries and museum and the new appointment is in place. Dean and university librarian Yolanda Cooper left Emory Nov. 12 to take the position of vice provost and Lindseth Family University Librarian at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, beginning Jan. 1, 2022.

Macklin holds degrees from the University of South Florida and Texas Woman’s University. She received her MA in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida and a JD from Georgia State University.
