About the Program

The annual Technology, Pedagogy, Curriculum, and Research (TPC+R) program is open to Emory University graduate students from all disciplines.

TPC+R is an extension session of the Laney Graduate School’s Teaching Assistant Training and Teaching Opportunity (TATTO) program, open to graduate students from all disciplines, that is designed to supplement other pedagogical training and professional development programming offered by academic departments, the Laney Graduate School, and the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS).

TPC+R presents an opportunity for graduate students to explore using new technologies in their teaching and research. Participants will be introduced to an array of digital tools, discuss practical and theoretical models for digital scholarship, and receive assistance in developing materials for their own courses and/or research. Through TPC+R, participants will design their own professional website, take part in interactive digital pedagogy exercises, and participate in workshops on digital research tools.

Spaces in the program are limited. Depending on the number of applications received, preference will be given to participants who have teaching experience, who wish to design a digital component for a course during the next academic year, or participants who display commitment to using technology in their dissertation research. As part of the application, participants should explain their interest in integrating technology into their teaching and research. Enrollment in the program also represents a commitment on the part of the participants to attend all twelve sessions. Breakfast will be served for all TPC+R sessions.

(You can read about last year’s TPC+R program here.)

Applications to the program are due by December 13, 2019.
