Description
A research opportunity is currently available with the Division of Reproductive Health (DRH) within the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia.
The selected participant will train with the Multi-State Network of Linked Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System Data project. Under the guidance of a mentor, the participant will train while developing professional skills in the following: project coordination, public health, epidemiology, complex survey design and analysis, data linkage, multiple data systems in maternal and child health, and attending webinars and seminars, and conferences.
The learning objectives for this appointment include:
- The participant will develop meeting and project coordination skills.
- The participate will develop knowledge in epidemiology, public health surveillance data, survey data, and administrative data systems.
- The participate will learn methods for data linkage and data analysis.
- The participate will do literature review on maternal and child health topics.
*Anticipated Start Date: August 2020
Qualifications
The qualified candidate should have received a master’s or doctoral (preferred) degree in one of the relevant fields, or be currently pursuing one of the degrees and will reach completion by the appointment start date. Degree must have been received within five years of the appointment start date.
Preferred skills:
- Excellent oral presentation skills
- Strong scientific writing skills
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with administrative data such as hospital discharge, medical claims, electronic health record data
- Experience with complex survey data analysis,
- Experience with data linkage
