International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will be hosting a Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Information Session on Wednesday, October 29 from 12:00 – 1:00PM

Curricular Practical Training (CPT) is a form of off-campus work authorization for F-1 students who plan to pursue an internship, practicum or training experience that is an integral part of their degree program. This training will apply to first-year international students pursuing an applied practice experience in the next academic year.

Anyone in the Emory University community who is interested in the unique, interdisciplinary resources for work in religion and public health are invited to attend the Religion and Public Health Community of Scholars Reception.  Come and meet faculty and student scholars from disciplines across the university to learn what is happening where these fields intersect. 

Graduates and current students taking interdisciplinary coursework, enrolled in the  dual-degree program (MDiv/MPH and MTS/MPH), working for the Certificate in  Religion and Health, and doing research will discuss their interprofessional learning experiences at Emory. Learn about the ways in which religion and public health can work together in research and practice.

Health Policy & Management Seminar: Data Visualization for HPM

Course opportunity: HPM 590R – Data Visualization for HPM

This course introduces students to the principles and practice of data visualization in the context of health policy and management. Students will learn how to transform complex health data into clear, compelling visual narratives that inform decision-making and drive action. Using Tableau software, the course covers best practices for visual design and effective storytelling in public health, policy, and management settings.

This is an in person, preterm course that meets 1/5-1/10 from 9am-4:30pm. It is a two credit course taught by Peter Joski. Please note that registration for this course is only open to HPM students until 11/7. For more information, visit the Emory Course Atlas.

Graduate Degree Programs, University of Washington Department of Health Metrics Sciences

The Department of Health Metrics Sciences at UW is currently accepting applications for two graduate degree programs:

Both programs are designed for students passionate about advancing population health through rigorous quantitative methods and innovative research. The programs are are particularly seeking applicants with strong backgrounds in data science, statistical modeling, and quantitative analysis. The application deadline for both programs is December 1, 2025.

Research Coordinator, University of Miami Comprehensive Center for Brain Health

University of Miami’s Comprehensive Center for Brain Health is hiring a Research Coordinator with this potential to begin after graduation.

The Research Coordinator will work on Dr. Lilah Besser’s grant-funded observational studies, which investigate how community environments are linked to health aging, brain health, and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. A degree in a scientific discipline (preferably in public health or related field) and at least one year of relevant experience is required. Focus Group Facilitator, Emory University Sleep Epidemiology Research Group

The Emory University Sleep Epidemiology Research Group (SERG) is seeking a male Masters or PhD student with social media and/or qualitative research research experience working with African American populations to serve as a GRA for the following project: 

Position: Focus Group Facilitator – SLUMBR Study

Organization: Sleep Epidemiology Research Group (SERG), Emory University

Commitment: 10–20 hours per week through December 2025, with potential renewal for spring semester

Eligibility: REAL students welcome to apply Overview The Focus Group Facilitator will support the SLUMBR study, a project within the Sleep Epidemiology Research Group (SERG), by leading qualitative focus groups to understand participant perspectives on social media and sleep-related content. The role will explore how participants perceive and engage with various types of social media content, providing insight to inform the study’s overall communication and engagement strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate virtual and/or in-person focus group sessions.
  • Collect, summarize, and document participant feedback.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication with participants.
  • Support analysis and reporting of qualitative findings.

Qualifications:

  • Currently a master’s/doctoral student.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience with qualitative research or group facilitation.
  • Interest in sleep health, social media engagement, or health communication preferred.
