Community Conversations: Emory Talks Climate Action

Category : News/Events

Emory University is undergoing a climate action planning and resilience assessment process led by the Emory Climate Action Task Force. To ensure the Task Force’s work is informed by the entire Emory community, Emory will host six Community Conversations this academic year to connect students, faculty, and staff across Emory University and Oxford College campuses to share climate action planning priorities. These Conversations will be hosted in various locations and at different times to enhance physical accessibility to the sessions.

These sessions are a key part of the University continuing progress toward pre-existing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals – 45% by 2030 and reaching net zero emissions by 2050, using a 2010 baseline – and upholding new commitments made by signing Second Nature’s Climate Commitment and by joining the United Nation’s Race to Zero campaign. Sign up to join a conversation using this registration link.

All Emory community members, no matter your familiarity with Emory’s sustainability initiatives, are encouraged to register to join any of the upcoming Community Conversations:

  • Wednesday, January 25th: 11:00 am-12:30 pm Grace Crum Rollins building, 8th floor Rita Ann Rollins Room (room 860)
  • Wednesday, March 1st: 4:30-6:00 pm Campus Services, Building B, Training Room B

Using Behavioral Theory to Understand the Red/Blue Divide in COVID-19 Vaccination Intentions, Webinar

Category : News/Events

This is a live webinar scheduled for January 23, 2023 at 1PM CT.

Political partisanship is an important predictor of COVID-19 vaccination status. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Republicans were less likely to report being vaccinated than Democrats. This webinar will discuss the results from research testing the hypothesis that partisan differences in intention to receive a COVID-19 vaccine can be explained by a commonly used theory of behavioral health intentions, Protection Motivation Theory.

This webinar is co-sponsored by the Alabama Regional Center for Infection Prevention and Control Training and Technical Assistance and the Region IV Public Health Training Center.
