Motor Vehicle Injury in the United States: Prevention and Data

Description

Motor vehicle crashes cause over 30,000 deaths and an estimated 2.5 million emergency department visits a year in the United States. This seminar will describe the burden of motor vehicle crash injury in the United States, highlight strategies that can be used to reduce motor vehicle crash injury, and discuss data sets that can be used to answer motor vehicle crash-related questions.

Vaughn Barry, PhD MPH

Presenter background

Dr. Barry has an MPH in biostatistics from the University of Minnesota and a PhD in epidemiology from Emory University. She is currently an Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Officer at the CDC in the Division of Injury Prevention.
