Position #1: Grant writing, knowledge management (graphics + social media) Potential position names: Grant Officer, Development Officer, Program Officer

The Dignity Pack Project was started in August of 2020 to meet the acute hygiene supply needs of people experiencing homelessness throughout Atlanta, GA during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through frequent hygiene product outreach events and around the city, DPP has distributed over 2,400 individualized hygiene bags. The project relies heavily on donor support, community partners, and an engaged volunteer network to remain successful. We are looking for a strong writer and well-organized student interested in learning more about program planning, financing, and outreach. This position will focus on identifying grants and funding sources and pulling together necessary resources to submit funding applications to support the Dignity Pack Project’s goals and continued operation. Prior grant writing experience is not required but a strong writing background and ability to complete projects efficiently is preferred. Potential funding sources will likely all be related to community-based programming, menstrual health, the health of unhoused populations, and/or a combination of these topics so prior knowledge of and experience in any of these fields is preferred. This position also has the opportunity to work in knowledge management and communications, including graphics development and social media page management, if of interest to the applicant.

Position #2: Program planning inc. inventory, partner planning, distribution oversight/assistance Potential position names: Project Coordinator, Distribution Coordinator, Operations Coordinator

The Dignity Pack Project was started in August of 2020 to meet the acute hygiene supply needs of people experiencing homelessness throughout Atlanta, GA during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through frequent hygiene product outreach events and around the city, DPP has distributed over 2,400 individualized hygiene bags. Distributions commonly take place in downtown Atlanta using an unpacked kit model with 3-6 volunteers at any given distribution. The project relies heavily on donor support, community partners, and an engaged volunteer network to remain successful. We are looking for an organized, community-oriented student to assist with planning and implementing hygiene supply distributions for the Dignity Pack Project. This would include inventorying supplies, assisting with product procurement as needed, recruiting and managing volunteers, and general coordination and implementation of hygiene distribution events. Experience with project management is preferred, but not required. This position works closely with the current Volunteer and Distribution coordinator to ensure that preparation and implementation of distributions are successfully carried out and volunteers are scheduled. This position would also include data management, including reach data collected at each distribution and potential to collect additional information from clients served as needed. There is potential to add data collection opportunities that could support a capstone or thesis project.

It would also include volunteer management, including database organization, volunteer communications, and recruitment of new volunteers. If of interest to the applicant, this position also has the opportunity to work in knowledge management and communications, including graphics development and social media page management.
