OIT finished a project recently that involved a last minute move of the Emory Heart and Vascular Center in Villa Rica, GA to a new office about a mile from the original site. Contacted on March 6, the team had to complete the move in only three weeks. This is normally a three-month project.
The move included a Metro E circuit for the switches, the installation of 31 voice and data lines, 12 phones, 3 wireless APs, 3 fax machines, and 12 PCs. The move was completed by the April 1 deadline, despite being at a location that was 80 miles round-trip from Emory. This project was a great example of how the team can work quickly to get a job done, and at a remote distance in the Metro area.
The team was comprised of Zedric Brooks (Enterprise Services), Joe Johnson (Infrastructure), Tillie Loza (Enterprise Services), Keith Rooks (PMO), and Quincy Thomas (Enterprise Services).
“Everything fell into place because all of the things we needed were out of the same AT&T central office (switch room), said Rooks, “so we were able to make the move quickly since the old building and the new building were so close together.
