Applications Open, Student Scholarship Opportunities

We are pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for  current students.  Please review the scholarships below.  You may submit an application for one or more of these scholarships by completing THIS FORM no later than October 24th at 11:59pm ET.

Students* are expected to submit a paragraph of no more than 250 words for each scholarship they apply to addressing how they meet scholarship criteria.

  1. Dr. Kathleen Miner Scholarship ($6,000): The ideal scholar will possess the energy, creativity, and perseverance necessary to effect positive change throughout their public health career focused on health education and disparities. A selection committee will determine the awardee for the $6,000 scholarship available to second year students MPH/MSPH during the 2023-2024 academic year.
  2. Gangarosa Scholarship Fund for Global Safe WASH ($5,000) Provides financial assistance to: First year students with a demonstrated interest in safe water, sanitation and hygiene, or (first and second year) students pursuing the Certificate in Global Safe WASH. A selection committee will determine the awardees for the $5,000 scholarship available to students during the 2023-2024 academic year.

III.   Joan P. Cioffi and Charles Frietas Jr. Scholarship ( $7,000) Provides financial assistance to outstanding second year students who have a demonstrated interest in humanitarian response or public health services for displaced populations. A selection committee will determine the awardees for the $7,000 scholarship available to returning students during the 2023-2024 academic year.

  1. Adopt-a-Scholar Program provides financial assistance to outstanding RSPH students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, community service involvement, academic success, and commitment to a career in public health. Below are the Adopt-a-Scholar Program Scholarships that are available:
  • Teresa Rivero Adopt-a-Scholar ($4000 Award): Preference for this award will be given to an outstanding MPH/MSPH student.
  • Dr. Michael Lindsay Adopt-a-Scholar ($2500 Award): Preference for this award will be given to MD/MPH student, with a preference for those interested in women’s health (e.g. OBGYN) and/or reproductive health.
  1. The Cari J. Clark Global Scholarship ($5,000) will provide support for RSPH students, with preference for international students pursuing their MPH degree.

*Selected students will receive a scholarship to be applied towards their Spring 2024 tuition.  Students who are receiving courtesy scholarship from Emory University are NOT eligible for these scholarships.
