Program Description

The Emory-Georgia Tech Healthcare Innovation Program (HIP) is an interactive network among members of the Georgia Clinical & Translational Science Alliance (Georgia CTSA) that provides information, resources, and community connectivity to support and enhance innovation in healthcare research, education, and service. Key topics include quality, cost and access to health services across the contexts of providers, payers, and recipients. HIP, in collaboration with student and professional organizations, offers a wide range of seminars, events and activities designed to engage students, faculty, and staff in Health Innovation throughout the year.

 

Job Description/Requirements

Under general supervision, performs the following tasks:

  1. Coordinate and maintain communications with HIP Student Advisory Group and relevant organizations for special event planning and program development.
  2. Organize, promote and assist with student-focused activities such as interest group meetings, networking events, student seed grants and quarterly Healthcare symposia.
  3. Variety of data management tasks – including collecting, processing and analyzing data for website and other communications platforms.
  4. Provide analytic and technical assistance as needed in program projects and development.
  5. Develop and maintain HIP social media communications using suitable technology.
  6. Other responsibilities may include website updates, maintaining listservs, and other duties.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Data Analysis skills – Student must have experience working with large, complex data sets and be very familiar working with Excel to clean, analyze, and present data. SAS preferred, but not a requirement.
  2. Student should be familiar with the field of Health Services Research and be able to identify studies that fall into specific topic areas. Experience with research, literature review and professional writing skills are preferred.
  3. Experience with graphic design and HTML are a plus.
  4. Organizational skills and attention to detail are important qualities to have for this job as you will be working with minimal supervision and will have multiple analyses to conduct on different data sets between meetings.
  5. An ideal candidate is a creative thinker and independent worker who takes initiative. He/she should be able to communicate effectively with all levels of faculty, students and staff.
  6. Knowledge of technology, social media and a well-established network with university groups or associations is strongly preferred.
